Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Splitting a bill is free, and no sign-up is required. Host Pro ($4.99 a month or $39.99 a year) shows your full bill history and adds exports and more scans. Tips are optional.
Do people need the app or an account?
No. There's no app to install. Everyone joins from a link, QR code, or code in their browser with just a name. An email is optional. Add one to keep your bills across devices and get more scans.
How is tax and tip split?
Proportionally by default. Each person pays tax and any printed service charge in proportion to what they ordered, and picks their own tip percentage. If the whole table agrees, the host can switch tax and tip to an equal split.
What if the scan gets something wrong?
Every scan opens a review screen. Fix prices, add missing items, and compare the total to the printed one. You can also type the items in by hand.
Does Easy Bill Split move money between us?
No. We never hold or move money between people. Each person sees what they owe, plus pay links for Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal (or Zelle details) if the host added them.
Is my receipt private?
Receipts are stored privately and shown only to people on the bill. Share codes expire after 7 days, and bills and receipt images from people without an account are deleted about 30 days after creation.
